"Alright guys, almost show time...Everybody ready for this?"
Mike looked around the cramped space at the other five men, trying to judge just how much all of them were going to hate this idea. To his surprise, all of them wore smiles except Chester, but that was his normal morning face anyway. He flashed a smile back at them as he took his seat, glancing out the side window, looking for another bus to pull up. Five minutes later, it arrived, parking beside theirs in the huge lot.
"Lets go..."
Chester was the first on off and down the stairs, pulling his shirt straight and running a hand through his spiked hair. He watched as his band lined up facing the other bus as member's of the other band began to file out. He had really thought that there were only five of them coming, but to his surprise, six came out of the bus, all male, and all looking extremely Aussie.
"Hey, glad you could make it on such short notice..."
"No worries mate. We're happy to help."
Mike had instantly started a conversation, shaking the hand of the tall, blond one Chester knew as Daniel.
"Alright, let's get the intros done so we can get on to the food...I'm starving..."
Daniel smiled, enough to make the sun look dim. They all lined up, facing each other like some kind of show down.
"Okay, here we go. I'm Mike Shinoda, this is Chester Bennington...Then we have Joe, Brad, Rob, and Dave, AKA Phoenix."
Each one nodded as their name was announced, getting a nod back from the Savage side.
"Nice to finally meet you all. My name is Daniel Jones, this is Darren Hayes, our lovely Diva..."
Darren flushed as Daniel hugged him gently.
"Ahhh....Karl, Lee, Ben, and the reason we were late, JD, AKA Dub. He's not really part of the band, but he's our new adopted roadie pet. Like I said before, it's nice to be here, and I'm sure we can make this one of the best tours that Oz has ever seen...Now, who's up for some food?"
Both lines collapsed into a mass of hand shaking and hellos. When Chester walked up to Darren, both of them froze, just looking at each other, until Darren let loose a squeak, and quickly clutched a hand over his mouth. Chester chuckled, resting a friendly hand on Darren's shoulder.
"Hey, don't get all worked up about this, ok? I'm a big fan of yours, and it's good to finally get to meet you up close. So...They call you Diva too?"
Darren smiled as he let his hand drop.
"Yeah, they do it all the time, nothing new there...I'm a big fan too...I think Dan was kind of jealous this morning...I haven't been able to talk about anything but meeting you since I heard the news."
Darren dropped his gaze, suddenly realizing that he had just come out and said what no reporter on Earth officially knew, though all of them thought it. He hadn't meant to say that he was in a relationship with Dan, but it just flew out like it was nothing.
"Hey Daz...Don't close up on me...Don't be ashamed of it either. I'm not totally, ummm, normal either...I've been with Mike for months."
A gentle hand lifted Darren's head, his eyes, meeting Chester's.
"I'm sorry...It's just that I don't usually come out like that. Wonder why I did it now?"
"Who knows...Maybe whim of the moment?"
Daniel walked over to them quietly, kissing Darren's cheek lightly before taking his hand.
