The Madness Must Go On...

Daniel plugged his ears as he dove off stage, the opening riffs of 'One Step Closer' literally shaking the floor under him as he trotted for his dressing room, Darren hot on his heels. Once the door was shut behind them, Darren busted out with giggles, almost doubling over in front of the door.

"Oh my God! And we have an entire tour of this to go through?"

"Hey, you were the one that wanted it so badly..."

"Yeah, but you were the one that said yes."

Dan frowned for a minute before picking up his shirt for the last part of the show.

"Who came up with these remixes?"

Darren perked up an eyebrow, looking back over his shoulder as he hopped around with one foot still caught in his pants.

"What? You don't like them?"

"I never said that, I just think they sound kind of funny."

Daniel pulled his shirt over his head, poking his eyes out in time to see Darren lose the battle with his pants, sending him sprawling across the floor.

"The music is not funny...Chester's rants and Ben's insanity are funny, and these pants can go to hell, but the music is not funny. So they decided to match 'Break Me, Shake Me' with 'A Place For My Head', and 'Last Christmas' with 'My December'...It's still cool right? I mean, where else are you going to hear that?"

"From Dub maybe?"

Darren sat up, pulling the last bit of his pant leg off, tugging his socks back up as he bounced back up to his feet, bent over awkwardly as Daniel began to whistle.

"Yeah baby! Show that arse!"

"Daniel, you aren't helping the situation!"

It came out as a growl, Daniel laughing loudly as Darren straightened out, lip in full pout as he folded his arms in a huff.

"Oh Darren, put some pants on before someone comes in..."

"I will put on something as soon as I am finished pouting!"

As soon as his voice was silenced, the door bounced open, Chester and Mike both bolting in, stopping suddenly when they noticed they weren't alone. Darren tossed up his hands, moving to grab his pants from the trunk as Mike turned a slight shade of pink around the edges, Chester seemingly more interested.

"Aren't you two supposed to be singing?"

"Vocal break."

Chester barked it out, shaking a bottle of water for emphasis. Mike looked between the three others, his expression slightly confused, finally landing on Daniel. He shrugged, turning to dig through the fridge for more water as Darren finally found the right pair of pants, sliding into the material easily as he darted back across the room again, diving for his mug.

"So, umm...Shouldn't you be getting back out onstage?"

Chester poked his tongue out, earning a smack and shove from Mike as he moved towards the door.

"Yes, we should, shouldn't we Chester?"

"Yeah, whatever..."

Mike winked at Darren as he shoved Chester out of the door, a wave of Ben and Dub's snickering floating back before the door was shut again. Daniel shook his head as he slid his feet into his boots, doing up the laces before stomping them for a second. Darren shrugged on his jacket, messing with some of the chains before grinning and prancing to the door.

"We should be nice and at least listen to the end of their show. It isn't like they aren't like this on the CD."

"You can't tell that they are insane on the CD, Darren. There is a slight difference between a round of plastic, and six people going crazy on stage. You know that Chester has already sprayed at least the front row with his stage supply of water, i.e. the reason he came back with Mike to find more. Karl is probably hiding, Lee is God knows where, Ben and Dub are just being Ben and Dub, and I'm standing here rattling off like a prat. What is happening to me?"

Darren patted his shoulder, making sympathetic noises as Karl bolted by, Ben and Lee close behind as they raced for the stage, yelling at the remaining members as they flashed passed.

"DubhasMike'sguitarisplayingonstagerightnowgoingnutswithCrawling!"

Daniel sprinted to catch up, Darren left confused.

"What in the hell did he just say?"

"Aww Dazza, come on!"

They bolted around the corner, skidding to a halt on the stairs on the side of the stage as Dub leapt off the top part of the stage next to Chester, hammering on the guitar that he has hanging from his shoulders. He dueled with Rob and Phe, screaming with Chester into Mike's microphone. All watched in a quiet form of amazement, even more so when he gave the guitar back at the end of the song, moving up to the turntables with Joe.

"Well, this is new..."

Lee pounced on Ben, covering his mouth with a hand before any of the rest of them could voice a complaint against the guitarist. Dub's smug grin as he noticed them lurking on the side was evidence enough that at least part of it had been planned and not a last minute exasperation to get his frustrations out.

**

"Thank you, good night!"

Twelve performers bowed down at the end of the show, waving as they walked off stage all wearing smiles. Eight went out for the first after show party, completely oblivious to the plans being executed by the remaining four.

Darren grabbed Chester as soon as they were off stage, trotting him back to the dressing room as Mike distracted Daniel, moving him towards the back exit, and the awaiting limo he had arranged earlier. What was to follow was to be one hell of a night...
