Though there are visibly only four species of being in this history, there are more in those who were not fully breed into one range, or those who were changed. The following are some of my thoughts, and small histories of the major species.
Homo badious: The Vampires
The traditional vampire has been walking since almost the beginning of man. In one legend, it was said that in Egypt, a Pharaoh and Queen disgraced a tribe of seers, two women in particular, twins. Because of their failure to help the royalty, the twins were severely punished. This enraged the spirits around them until one attacked and binded himself to the royalty, killing them in a manor, but giving them a taste for blood. To this day, every night-walker carries a part of that original spirit with them, including the twins.
More likely the case is the story of Lord Dracule, a brutal ruler who killed many, making a great wall from the skulls, and supposedly bathing and drinking the blood. Many medical conditions could also explain why people needed blood to survive.
There are never any straight born pure bloods, in the fact that they can not procreate. However, if an expectant mother is changed before birth, it is possible for the child to be considered pure, depending on the type and condition of the vampire doing the changing. One line considered pure is the deLioncourts, including Lestat, Louis, and Ben Carey who also changed Karl Lewis.
About Lee Novak:
Lee is the leader of the Brisbane coven, as well as one of The Seven, sitting as the Australian member of The Council of Affirmations. He comes from a pure-blood coven, though it is unknown in location. Not much is known about him, besides that there were some specific side effects when he was changed. In particular his eyes, which change color with his moods. This is not a common trait within the pure lines.
Homo pyradus: The Pyraidians
Most vampires consider the Pyraidians as a mistake that should have never happened. A mortal found the power and ability to control spirits, and with them planned a way to become the ultimate, La Magre as he called it. On the night of what they called the Blood Moon, he stole the essences of twelve pure-bloods, binding them to his soul. Along with his powers, he retained the ability to walk in daylight without harm. He also retained his heart and mind, the ability to keep his sanity.
Pyraidians are usually more human than vampires, being able to blend in better and express more emotion than the typical blood drinker. One major difference between Pyraidians and the stereotypical vampire class is that a Pyraid will always be considered pure, no matter how it became that way. This is due to the blood being a living thing at all times. Another point to press is that a Pyraidian can procreate, but dont rely on those means. There are always very few in number, and only one who can carry the title of La Magre, though the quality once associated with that title has diminished.
At the time that I am writing this, their number is less than eight in the known world, much due to the hunting of one Dagmantis Kacrona.
Canis sapenus: The Wolfbainians
Older than any vampire, the race of Wolfbainians were the final evolution of annimalian humanids. No one knows exactly how the race came to be, and much of their history has been lost since the ending of the Bantric Holyland Wars. By that time, their rule spread all of mainland lower Asia and all of what is now modern Russia. The Bantric Wars were a dire death march of vampires out to dominate the Wolfbainian powers. The Wolfbainians were pushed West into what is now Poland/Germany, hoping to hold together the last remaining clan. The Berlin War erupted around them, vampires being lead by Pyraidians into a bloodbath that sealed the fate of a once proud race.
Dagmantis Kacrona was the soul survivor, the last of his kind, and a deadly enemy to any one who comes against him. Even more so to anyone associated with the wars that ended his clan rule. It is worth noting that there are currently two Wolfbainians in power.
Wolfbainians have three forms: Human, Wolf, and Warrior. Warrior is by far the most threatening, standing at over seven feet high. Within the elders, it was not uncommon for wings to develop into this phase, but not until aged 600 or later.
Homo sapien: The Humans
Humans are the base of all, a weak and unruly race to many. They can only be considered one of two things, loyal or food, and most are blissfully unaware of the creatures around them. Life for a human is truly a spectators sport, because if they arent watching, they are being eaten.
About Half Bloods:
There are three main half bloods that can be found in the story: Dagmantis Kacrona, Jason Deacon Frost/Jones, and Daniel Malloy. All were mostly accidental, Daniel Jones at fault for two of them. Dagmantis is part Pyraidian as result of an attack, and Jason is half Pyraidian, his mother changed before they knew she was carrying a child. Malloy is harder to explain, floating as if he was merely a long living mortal. To his credit, he is a most caring and compassionate vampire, much apart from the coveners. His mind is also much more open to supernatural forces
